COMMUNITY FIRST

community imgThe Saginaw Township Police Department is comprised of personnel that have a strong commitment to community service. The desire to have a good customer service relationship with residents, businesses and visitors to our area is stressed from the Chief, Supervisors and officers.

We firmly believe that in order to function successfully as a proactive police department we must have strong ties to the community that we serve.

Community Commitment

community imgOur officers can routinely be found participating in such events as the National Night Out Program and the Shop with a Hero program. Several officers volunteer at major events such as the Michigan Special Olympics.community img

All officers routinely offer suggestions to residents and businesses that are victims of criminal activity. Officers offer advice to help prevent being a victim of crime. They provide information to residents on safety measures such as security locks and lighting.

Many Saginaw township Police Department members are involved in charitable organizations such as the 100 Club, the Saginaw Valley CROP program and READ programs.

community imgOfficer that are members of the Critical Incident Debriefing Team participate without compensation from the department and often times are called to duty in the dead of night after having completed a 12 hour work shift.

It is such commitment to the community that makes being a Saginaw Township Police Officer a truly special thing.

Above and Beyond

While rarely known to the general public, our officers have been known to spend hours in the dead of night searching for the owners of lost pets. They've provided emotional support to families that have suffered the unexpected loss of a loved one. Routinely officers have changed flat tires for weary travelers or given a few dollars to a family that has ran out of gas.

The Saginaw Township Police Department and Saginaw Township Police Officers Association annually offers economic support to needy families during the holiday season and is one of the first ones there to support an officer's family in time of need regardless of what department their patch may say.
