“I remember walking into the elementary school for the first time.  The kids were not used to seeing the police in the school  and were a bit apprehensive and worried something bad had happened.  After teaching one class, upon my return visit instead of being greeted by uncertainty and apprehension, I was greeted with hugs and cheers.  Teaching has been a very rewarding experience.”                                                                                         -Officer Chris Fredenburg

Officer Fredenburg has spearheaded the Saginaw Township Police Department’s Shoplifter Task Force.   The Task Force shares intelligence with retailers throughout the TShoplifter task forceri-Cities and conducts shoplifter blitzes resulting in hundreds of arrest.  These efforts have significantly reduced the losses suffered by local retailers due to shoplifting.  The community has also experienced a sharp reduction in other crimes in the shopping districts.

Some of his other responsibilities include working with apartment communities through the Crime Free Multi Housing Program, working with Neighborhood Watch groups, and serving as a public relations representative for the Police Department.
