DETECTIVES
Detective Unit
The Saginaw Township Police Department Detective Unit has the responsibility of investigating criminal cases that range from larcenies to homicide.
Detective Sergeant Doyle, reviews and assigns cases to Detectives Bean, Brooks, McInerney, Pitt, and Worden.
The detectives then conduct the any necessary follow-up investigation on cases that have been written by patrol officers. The purpose of the investigation is to gather facts and determine if the elements of a crime are present to successfully prosecute a suspect.
Detective Chad Brooks
Detective Brooks also serves as an exercise physiologist for the department and is one of our EMT's. He has been recognized by the department with numerous citations and commendations. In 2005 he was named the Exchange Club "Officer of the Year."
Detective Brooks has also worked for the Carrollton Township and City of Frankenmuth Police Departments.
Detective Tom McInerney
Detective McInerney is a senior member of the Saginaw Township Fire Department and is a trained arson investigator. He has worked various plain clothes units including CPU. Detective McInerney was the 2002 Exchange Club "Officer of the Year."
Prior to being employed by the Saginaw Township Police Department, Det. McInerney worked for the Carrollton Township Police Department.
Detective Mindy Worden
Detective Worden specializes in sexual assault crimes, specifically those against children. In addition, Detective Worden investigates a lot of the cases from the east district where we have a large concentration of retail.
Prior to her employment with Saginaw Township, Detective Worden work for Saginaw County. She has an extensive knowledge of repeat offenders based on her experiences working in the Saginaw County jail.
Detective Morden was named the 2010 Exchange Club "Officer of the Year."
FRAUD DETECTIVE
Detective Brian Pitt
Detectives Brian Pitt investigates all crimes that involve computer crimes, child pornography, fraud, embezzlement, and check complaints.
Detective Brian Pitt has an extensive background in computer forensic examination. He has worked the road patrol, CPU, and been assigned to a general case detective. In 1992 he was named the Exchange Club "Officer of the Year". Detective Pitt also received recognition for assisting the FBI in quickly locating a subject that kidnapped a disabled child in 2009. Detective Pitt's forensic expertise enabled him to review a computer belonging to the suspect and determine that he fled to the Sandusky Ohio area.
Multi-jurisdiction Unit Detectives
Detective Greg Remer and Detective Scott Jackson
Detective Greg Remer is assigned to the Bay Area Narcotic Enforcement Team and he handles drug related crimes and forfeitures. Detective Remer has a background in investigations and has worked for the past two years as a plain clothes detective. His familiarity with people in the Saginaw area makes him a valuable asset to our department.
Detective Scott Jackson is assigned to the Saginaw County Auto Theft Team (SCATT). He is teamed with an officer from the Saginaw Police Department and together they investigate all auto thefts in Saginaw County.

The Saginaw Township Police Department has incorporated a CRIME INFORMATION HOT LINE, 791-7233, and a CRIME INFORMATION TIP LINE, 791-7226 into its arsenal for the fight against crime.
The Hot Line will have updates almost daily on crimes or problems in your area. The Tip Line allows citizens the opportunity to report problems or crimes in your area.
