INVESTIGATIONS
PLAIN CLOTHES DETECTIVES
The Saginaw Township Police Department Investigations Division has multiple units.
Lieutenant Grauf is the supervisor for all units. He oversees two detective Sergeants, nine detectives and three district resource officers. In addition he supervises property management and two support staff personnel.
The plain clothes detectives are unique investigators. They are assigned to the Bay Area Narcotics Enforcement Team (BAYANET), the Saginaw County Auto Theft Team (S.C.A.T.T.) and occasionally they are assigned to assist the city of Saginaw Police Department's Street crimes Task Force.
In addition, the Saginaw Township Police Department maintains two plain clothes detectives as part of the Crime Prevention Unit. These detectives have developed excellent community contacts and resources that assist in case investigations handled by the case detectives.
The CPU detectives also provide surveillance, assist with warrant pickup and perform various investigative tasks that do not normally require long term investigations.
While rarely seen by the public, these plain clothes detectives provide and invaluable service in keeping the residents of Saginaw Township safe.
