2011 National Police Week- May 16-22

npw img

In May of 1982 the first recognition of National Police Week began. That small gathering of 125 people in Washington D.C. was the foundation for May 15th being designated as Peace Officer Memorial Day.

The Saginaw Township Police Department recognizes the observance of National Police Week by recognizing the efforts of department personnel as well as community members. We also reflect on the lives lost of those officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice protecting the general public.

This year's award ceremony was held on May 17th, 2011 at the Knights of Columbus Valley Columbian Bldg, 4840 Shattuck Road. The ceremony begins at 6:00p.m.

Officer's will be recognized for various contributions to the citizens and businesses of Saginaw Township.
